Meet Our Head Trainer
Lara Armstrong
Head Trainer & Lead Instructor
Born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, Lara Armstrong has spent her life dedicated to horses, horsemanship, and education. As the owner and head trainer of LNJ Ranch, she combines decades of riding experience with professional instruction to help riders of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential.
Lara earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science/Biotechnology from Oklahoma State University, studying Equine Production & Management, Applied Animal Nutrition, and Stable Management. She later completed her Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership from York University.
She also maintains Oklahoma State teaching certifications in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Agricultural Education, and Special Education, bringing patience, structure, and effective teaching methods into every lesson.
Throughout her competitive career, Lara has earned numerous championships in English and Western disciplines, Halter, Showmanship, and Jumping, competing successfully at local, rated, World, and International Championship events.
In 2022, Lara made history by becoming the first woman appointed as Chief of the United States Army's Field Artillery Half Section, leading the Army's mounted military unit.
